Role: Group Reporting Manager — you’ll play a key part in supporting the Director Group Reporting in managing the Group’s financial reporting requirements, focusing on statutory consolidation reporting.
Responsibilities
- Group Consolidation & Financial Reporting: Review of Group consolidated financial statements, including annual financial statements, interim and year-end reporting, and related disclosures.
- Consolidation processes: Review consolidation journals and adjustments in compliance with IFRS and SEC requirements. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting deliverables.
- Analytical reviews: Conduct detailed analytical reviews of consolidated financial results, identifying trends, variances, and key insights; provide clear and actionable financial analysis to support management decision-making.
- Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for Group Reporting across business units, ensuring alignment on deliverables and deadlines.
- Technical Accounting & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with IFRS, SEC regulations, and other applicable standards; monitor new standards and regulatory requirements; support implementation and maintain group accounting policies.
- Systems Monitoring and Controls: Ensure SOX controls within consolidation and reporting processes; maintain and enhance financial reporting systems; manage user access controls and approve system changes as needed.
- Data Governance & Quality: Collaborate with business units on data submission; investigate data discrepancies; own end-to-end data intake, validation, and sign-off for Group Reporting.
- Process Improvement & Automation: Drive continuous improvement, identify automation opportunities, optimise financial systems, and maintain standardised reporting processes.
- Projects & Stakeholder Management: Represent finance on cross-functional projects; apply IFRS expertise; build relationships with stakeholders; provide training and capability uplift for finance teams.
- Training & Communication: Develop training programs on accounting policies and disclosures; lead workshops and create user-friendly guidance; mentor junior team members.
Qualifications
- CA(SA) or equivalent accounting qualification.
- 7–10+ years of post-articles experience with group consolidations and reporting; experience supporting senior management.
- Strong understanding of consolidation processes, intercompany eliminations, and application of consolidation standards.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and regulatory frameworks; experience drafting and reviewing consolidated financial statements; experience with external audits.
- Excellent attention to detail, data integrity, and communication/presentation skills; track record of cross-functional collaboration and delivering multiple projects on time.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and priorities.
Desirable skills
- In-depth knowledge of sports betting markets and industry trends.
- Experience in online gaming or casino industry; understanding of player behaviour and regulations.
- Knowledge of gambling regulations across jurisdictions; familiarity with SOX compliance or listed environments.
- Experience with business/financial software (MS Dynamics Nav/Business Central, FloQast, IBM Planning Analytics, Workiva) is a plus.
- Leadership experience.
