Job summary

Network Finance is seeking a technically strong Group Reporting Accountant to join its Group finance team in Midrand. The role emphasizes complex consolidations, IFRS reporting, and delivering accurate group information for management and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be CA(SA) with at least five years’ experience in consolidations within a JSE-listed environment, strong tax awareness and a proactive approach to process improvements.

Qualifications

• CA(SA) with at least 5 years of accounting and reporting experience.
• Hands-on with consolidated group financial statements in a JSE-listed environment.
• Strong IFRS and technical accounting knowledge; tax and deferred tax familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, interim and annual consolidated financial reports.
• Perform group consolidations, intercompany eliminations and consolidation journals.
• Prepare IFRS-compliant consolidated annual financial statements and disclosures.
• Research and resolve technical accounting matters and prepare position papers.
• Support external audits and manage audit-ready reporting packs and deliverables.
• Assist with JSE reporting and applicable regulatory compliance requirements.
• Analyse financial results and provide management reporting insights.
• Support income tax and deferred tax accounting requirements.
• Strengthen reporting controls and drive automation and process improvements.

My client, an established FMCG Group with trusted brands across multiple divisions, is seeking a technically strong Group Reporting Accountant to join its Group finance team in Midrand.

This opportunity is ideal for a CA(SA) who enjoys complex consolidations, preparing Group financial statements and resolving technical accounting matters. You will contribute to a JSE-listed reporting environment, working closely with finance teams across the business to deliver accurate financial information and meaningful management insights.

Key Responsibilities:

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• CA(SA).
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant accounting and reporting experience.
• Hands-on experience preparing consolidated Group financial statements.
• Working experience within a JSE-listed finance environment.
• Strong IFRS and technical accounting knowledge.
• Sound understanding of income tax and deferred tax accounting.
• Big Four or another strong audit firm background preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing reporting deadlines.
• A proactive attitude, clear communication and the ability to work independently.
• Willingness to work fully office-based in Midrand.
