Job summary

Headhunters in Centurion, Gauteng seeks an Inventory and Purchasing specialist to lead urgent parts logistics in a manufacturing environment. You will monitor inventory, backorders and demand, optimise stock levels, and coordinate local and international supplier availability.

The role requires 4–5 years in inventory management, strong SAP/IDIS skills, and a proven ability to drive cost efficiency while ensuring ISO 9001 and VDA compliance. Collaboration with multiple stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in purchasing, supply chain, logistics or related field.
• 4–5 years’ experience in inventory management and purchasing within manufacturing or automotive.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and VDA standards and supplier governance.
• Experience with sourcing, import logistics and tracking lead times.
• Strong communication and analytical abilities, able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end urgent parts logistics function.
• Monitor inventory performance, demand and backorders.

• Manage sourcing and replenishment of critical parts and accessories.
• Coordinate parts availability from local and international suppliers.
• Analyse airfreight costs to improve cost efficiency.

• Analyse operational data to support decision making and audits.
• Drive continuous process improvements and lead a team of Analysts.
• Build relationships with suppliers, freight forwarders and internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Purchasing, Inventory Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a relevant business qualification
• B.Com Supply Chain, CPIM, Diploma in Logistics, or similar qualification will be advantageous
• 4–5 years’ experience in inventory management, purchasing, supply chain, or related logistics functions
• Experience within a manufacturing or automotive environment is essential
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and VDA standards
• Understanding of procurement governance and compliance procedures
