Job summary

Mr Price Group in Durban seeks a strategic Head of Learning & Development to design and drive a future-focused learning strategy that enables business growth and capability building across the organisation in a dynamic retail environment.

You will lead an L&D agenda, develop policies, manage budgets and ROI, and partner with BBBEE, HR, and business stakeholders to deliver learning initiatives across multiple divisions.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years’ experience in Learning & Development, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role leading diverse teams.
• Experience in leadership development and organisational capability building.
• Exposure to retail, FMCG, or multi-site environments is highly advantageous.
• Experience with digital learning platforms and modern learning methodologies.
• Provide thought leadership, design and delivery of core capabilities of the L&D team.

Responsibilities

• Develop the Group L&D strategy aligned to the People and Business strategy.
• Design the L&D framework aligned to the business model and capability needs.
• Translate long-term strategy into actionable tactical plans for the team.
• Develop and lead L&D policies.
• Define and track ROI measures for key learning outcomes.
• Oversee learning technology platforms and tools.
• Manage L&D-related risks and compliance reporting.
