Group Finance Director — Path to CFO in High-Growth Energy

Job summary

Salt, a high-growth energy infrastructure distribution business, operates across multiple African markets and sits within an international group with several local subsidiaries. The Group seeks a Finance Director who can step into a Group CFO role, reporting to the CEO and accountable to the Board.

You will lead consolidated financial control, drive capital allocation, debt funding, FX hedging and transfer pricing strategy while scaling the finance function across multi-jurisdictional teams.

Qualifications

• CA(SA) or equivalent professional qualification.
• 8–10 years post-qualification experience, with 5+ years in senior finance leadership/CSU role.
• Proven experience interacting with Boards, lenders and noteholders.
• Experience in import-distribution, trading, industrial or manufacturing environments desirable.
• Cross-border group reporting and multi-currency exposure is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead consolidated financial control, reporting and governance across the Group and subsidiaries.
• Oversee group working capital strategy within an import-distribution model.
• Drive capital allocation decisions across trading and manufacturing entities.
• Manage debt funding, covenant compliance and lender reporting.
• Act as primary finance contact for lenders and funding stakeholders.
