Job summary

Edge Executive Search Group is seeking a Group Executive to lead an integrated enterprise security and enforcement function for South Africa's airport infrastructure sector in a senior, strategic role.

The candidate will drive governance, risk management, investigations and enforcement coordination across a highly regulated environment, balancing public safety with operational resilience and commercial sustainability.

Qualifications

• Honours degree at NQF Level 8 in Law Enforcement, Security Management, Intelligence or equivalent.
• 13+ years of relevant professional experience, incl. 8+ years in security management at management level.
• At least 5 years of senior management experience with strategic decisions and cross-functional teams.
• Essential PSIRA registration.
• Track record developing enterprise security strategies, governance, risk management and security programmes.
• Strong knowledge of SA legislation, National Key Point, aviation security requirements, ACSA Act and related law.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an integrated enterprise security strategy aligned with objectives, aviation security requirements and international standards.
• Establish enterprise-wide governance, assurance, enforcement, loss control and performance frameworks.
• Lead strategic security risk management, threat intelligence, analytics and proactive vulnerability assessment.
• Oversee investigations into criminal activity, fraud, corruption, theft and other incidents.
• Coordinate enforcement outcomes and drive corrective action with Legal, HR and business units.
• Lead loss prevention initiatives to reduce security-related losses and exposures.
• Provide executive oversight of aviation security, cargo screening, perimeter/terminal security and critical infrastructure protection.
• Drive security operations centres, monitoring capabilities and national coordination procedures.
• Lead security technology strategy and digital transformation including biometrics, AI, video analytics and predictive threat detection.
• Partner with IT to strengthen cyber-physical security integration and cybersecurity controls.
