Job summary

Edgexec (Pty) Ltd in Johannesburg seeks a Head of Risk Management to shape enterprise-wide risk strategy across credit, liquidity, market and operational risk in a premier banking group. You will lead ICAAP, stress testing, risk data governance and regulatory interactions, reporting to the Deputy GM and guiding a four-person team.

The role demands a decade plus in banking risk, strong commercial judgement, and the ability to balance risk with growth in a cross-border environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
• Proven track record in enterprise risk management and risk oversight
• Experience with ICAAP, stress testing and risk data governance
• Strong Basel capital standards knowledge and risk reporting
• Leadership of a risk function or major regulatory programmes preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise risk management strategy across credit, liquidity, market, operational, and other risks
• Oversee ICAAP, stress testing, risk appetite and data governance initiatives
• Coordinate risk committees and inform executive decision‑making
• Engage with regulators and prepare regulatory submissions and remediation plans
• Develop and lead a small risk team across multiple functions
• Partner with Finance, Treasury, Compliance, and IT to embed risk across the organization
