Our client is seeking a highly skilled Grid Integration Specialist to join their expanding energy division based in Centurion . This role is crucial for ensuring the stable and efficient integration of renewable energy sources into the national power grid. You will analyze grid performance, develop technical solutions for interconnection challenges, and work closely with utility partners and project developers. This position is ideal for an engineer with deep knowledge of power systems, grid codes, and renewable energy technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze the impact of renewable energy generation on grid stability, power quality, and operational performance.
• Develop and implement technical strategies for the effective integration of solar, wind, and battery storage systems into the electricity grid.
• Collaborate with grid operators, utilities, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with grid codes and interconnection standards.
• Conduct grid impact studies and feasibility assessments for new renewable energy projects.
• Provide technical guidance and support to project teams on grid connection requirements and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to grid integration and power system stability.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• 5+ years of experience in power system analysis, grid integration, or renewable energy consulting.
• Proficiency in power system simulation software (e.g., PSCAD, PowerFactory DIgSILENT, ETAP).
• Thorough understanding of grid codes, interconnection standards, and power system protection.
