Placements24 is seeking a dynamic Sports Development Officer to drive grassroots initiatives in the Midrand community. You will identify local talent, organize events, and foster activity across all ages, collaborating with schools, clubs and leaders to build a sustainable sports ecosystem in the region.
Ideal candidates will have experience in sports management, strong organizational skills, and a relevant degree.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sports management or community development.
- Strong knowledge of sports development pathways across disciplines.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Experience working with diverse community groups and stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualification in Sports Science, Recreation Management, or related field is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans for sports development programs across disciplines.
- Organize and manage local sports tournaments, clinics, and workshops for different ages.
- Build and maintain relationships with schools, community centers, and sports federations.
- Identify and nurture young talent, providing pathways for development.
- Promote inclusivity and diversity within all programs.
- Monitor program effectiveness and report KPIs to stakeholders.
