Placements24 is seeking a dynamic Community Organizer to foster positive change and engagement in Paarl. You will build relationships with residents, groups, and stakeholders to identify issues and mobilize collective action, developing strategies to address needs and empower civic participation.

You will lead outreach, organize meetings, and collaborate to advocate for social improvements while documenting activities and reporting impact in a vibrant Western Cape community.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in community organizing, activism, or community development.
• Strong understanding of social justice issues and grassroots organizing principles.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills.
• Ability to build trust and rapport with diverse populations.
• Demonstrated leadership and project management capabilities.
• Passion for empowering communities and driving positive social change.

Responsibilities

• Identify and engage with community members, leaders, and organizations to understand local concerns and priorities.
• Develop and implement outreach strategies to recruit and mobilize volunteers and participants for community initiatives.
• Organize and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and events to build awareness and collective power.
• Collaborate with community members to develop action plans and advocate for social, economic, or environmental improvements.
• Build and maintain relationships with local government officials, non-profits, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Document community activities, track progress, and report on the impact of organized efforts.
