Job summary

NACOSA is seeking an experienced Grant Finance Manager to provide strategic financial management and oversight of our Global Fund grant. This role ensures compliance, planning, budgeting and reporting in line with donor policies and NACOSA procedures.

You will lead grant budgets, forecasts and cash flows, monitor expenditure against budgets, support audits, strengthen financial controls, and mentor the finance team to deliver timely, accurate information for senior management decisions.

Qualifications

• Requires relevant finance degree or professional accounting qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in grant finance or nonprofit funding.
• Experience with Global Fund grants or donor-funded programs is a plus.

Job description

NACOSA is seeking an experienced and result driven Grant Finance Manager to provide strategic financial management and oversight of our Global Fund grant. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring effective financial management, accountability, planning and reporting in line with NACOSA and the donor’s policies and procedures, the goals of the project, and the provisions of the funding agreement. This role also provides detailed financial analysis and helps strengthen systems through process development, training, and support.

The duties and responsibilities of the Grant Finance Manager will include, but not limited to:

• Provide strategic financial management and oversight of Global Fund grants.
• Lead the preparation, monitoring, and management of grant budgets, forecasts, cash flows, and financial plans.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of donor financial reports and other grant-related financial information.
• Monitor grant expenditure against approved budgets and identify variances, risks, and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with Global Fund financial policies, grant agreements, procurement requirements, and organisational policies and procedures.
• Provide financial guidance and support to programme and grant management teams.
• Oversee accounting processes and ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial records.
• Review financial transactions, reconciliations, expenditure, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance and accountability.
• Support internal and external audits, donor reviews, and financial assessments.
• Strengthen financial controls, systems, processes, and procedures relating to grant management.
• Manage, mentor, and develop the finance team to ensure effective performance and delivery.
• Collaborate with procurement and programme teams to ensure compliance with donor procurement rules and regulations.
• Identify and mitigate financial, compliance, and operational risks associated with grant implementation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Non-Profit Organisation legislation and other relevant statutory requirements.
• Provide financial analysis and advice to senior management to support effective decision-making.
• Manage competing priorities and high volumes of requests while maintaining accuracy, quality, and adherence to deadlines
