Job summary

Clickatell is seeking a motivated Graduate Technical Writer in Cape Town for a 2027 program from February 1 to November 30. You will collaborate with Product, Engineering and Marketing to produce user guides, onboarding materials and FAQs, while gaining hands-on experience in documentation management.

You will develop skills in information architecture, content strategy and training content, supported by mentorship and real-world projects within a global enterprise chat commerce platform.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, Communications, Information Systems, Computer Science, Multimedia Design, Education or related field.
  • Graduated within the last two years.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn technical concepts and explain them clearly.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft 365 applications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating and maintaining customer-facing product documentation, user guides, onboarding materials, and FAQs.
  • Support updating existing documentation for accuracy, consistency and usability.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers and Product Specialists to document features and workflows.
  • Develop training materials, presentations, quick reference guides and internal enablement resources.
  • Organise documentation repositories and ensure content follows standards and style guidelines.
  • Participate in documentation planning, audits and release-related activities.
  • Support content publishing across knowledge management platforms.
  • Proofread and edit documentation for clarity, grammar and user experience.
  • Learn and apply documentation best practices and customer-centric writing techniques.
  • Contribute ideas to improve documentation processes and content effectiveness.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, Communications, Information Systems, Computer Science, Multimedia Design, Education or related field
Graduated within the last two years

Purpose:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-orientedGraduate Technical Writerto join our Product Documentation and Training team. This graduate program runs from1 February 2027 to 30 November 2027and is open to candidates who arecurrently based in Cape Town, as in‑person collaboration and participation will form part of the experience. This role is designed for a recent graduate who is interested in technical communication, technology, customer enablement, and content creation.

The successful candidate will gain hands‑on experience creating,maintaining, and improving customer‑facing and internal documentation while working closely with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams. Through mentorship and exposure to real‑world projects, the graduate will develop practical skills in technical writing, information architecture, content strategy, training content creation, and documentation management.
