Job summary

impact.com in Cape Town is seeking a Graduate Software Engineer to join the GRAINE squad, where you will fast track your software development skills. You will become proficient in Java, unit testing, TDD, and Spring, while learning our platform and code base.

You will develop, test, and maintain software for the Platform, write unit and integration tests, and collaborate both independently and in pairs. You will review business needs, document designs and tests, and respond to alerts to fix

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years Java programming experience.
• Are you passionate about working in Java?
• You are able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• You take initiative.
• Work in an atmosphere that promotes growth.
• Experience with modern agile methodology is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Eclipse or IntelliJ is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain software for the Platform.
• Build meaningful unit, functional and integration level tests for the software built.
• Develop code both independently and while pair programming.
• Keep abreast of trends and advancements within area of specialization.
• Review business needs, requirements, technical specifications.
• Write and maintain design, user and test documentation.
• Respond to alerts, review error messages, and fix bugs in a timely manner.
