Job summary

Naidu Consulting (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Graduate Engineer / Technologist to join the Urban Infrastructure Division in Durban, SA. You will assist in planning, design and implementation of municipal water, wastewater and civil infrastructure projects.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, gain practical experience, and develop technical skills through mentorship, site visits and hands-on project delivery.

Qualifications

• BSc(Eng), BEng, BTech or equivalent in Civil Engineering
• Eligible for registration with ECSA as a Candidate Engineer or Candidate Engineering Technologist
• 0–2 years’ post-graduate experience
• Interest in water, wastewater and urban infrastructure engineering
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D and hydraulic modelling software
• Good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
• Willingness to learn and develop towards professional registration
• Valid driver’s licence would be advantageous

• Undertake engineering calculations for pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs and civil works.
• Assist with water and wastewater treatment works projects.
• Support master planning, capacity assessments and hydraulic modelling.
• Assist with civil design including earthworks, stormwater, site grading and municipal services.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, specifications, quantities and tender documentation.
• Participate in site inspections, construction monitoring and project meetings.
• Work within multidisciplinary project teams and support senior engineers with project delivery.
• Contribute to a growing team through effective communication and knowledge sharing.
