Job summary

Teraco Data Environments in Gauteng is seeking a motivated Graduate Draughtsperson to join the Infrastructure Management Technology team. The role focuses on designing and developing data centre infrastructure drawings, working closely with senior engineers in a fast-paced, highly technical setting.

You will create and update technical drawings, learn BIM approaches, and contribute to ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• National Diploma, Diploma, or Degree in Draughting, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Design, Multi-Disciplinary Draughting, or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or similar drafting tools.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings, technical standards, and design principles.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the creation, updating, and maintenance of technical drawings and layouts using CAD software.
• Develop detailed mechanical, electrical, and infrastructure drawings under the guidance of senior engineers and designers.
• Ensure drawings comply with company standards, specifications, and industry requirements.
• Support project teams by preparing design documentation and drawing revisions.
• Participate in site visits to verify dimensions and gather information for drafting purposes.
• Assist with the management and organization of engineering drawings and records.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and technical teams to ensure design accuracy and completeness.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering and design environment.
