ROLE IMPACT

The CEO Office requires a university graduate (or young professional who has recently graduated) to support the effective execution of ongoing priorities and enhance operational efficiency. The individual must be passionate about business, strategy, and problem-solving.

The incumbent would be expected to contribute to enhancing administrative, research, communication and project support in the CEO Office, and own a portfolio of responsibilities in coordination with the Office's structures.

This role provides a unique opportunity to gain exposure to company-wide strategic priorities, executive decision-making, stakeholder engagement, and business transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will provide research, admin and project coordination support, progressively earning greater responsibility as their capability and judgement develop. Therefore, the role is suited to an individual who possesses strong analytical capabilities, has a problem-solving mindset, a passion for business and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Support

  • Support the preparation of documents within the CEO office; including quality control and research responsibilities
  • Prepare basic business case models (NPV/IRR templates) under Finance review
  • Compile and maintain KPI dashboards and management reports.
  • Gather and analyse operational and business data to support decision-making.
  • Coordinate inputs for annual business planning and strategy review processes.

Office & Executive Support

  • Administrate calendar & prioritisation (with clear rules on prioritisation and escalation)
  • Assist in the preparation of briefing packs to prepare CEO office for key engagements, using templates: agenda, talking points, decision requests, risks
  • Coordinate weekly briefs, action logs, minutes, board pack version control
  • Support the scheduling and coordination of strategic meetings, including agenda preparation and follow-up actions.
  • Assist with internal and external communications issued from the CEO Office.
  • Conduct research on business, industry, competitor and market trends

Stakeholder & Project Coordination

  • Monitor internal coordination with Exco/BUs on CEO priorities
  • Assist with PMO-light tracking of milestones, risks, issues (using Planner/Lists) – strategy execution
  • Support the planning and execution of cross-functional projects and initiatives by the CEO Office.
  • Monitor project timelines, risks, milestones and deliverables.
  • Coordinate engagement with internal stakeholders to ensure project progress.
  • Prepare status reports and updates for leadership review.
  • Maintain project documentation and governance records.

Communications & Content

  • Draft and edit internal communications, executive updates, cover notes, and town hall support materials using approved templates and style guides.
  • Assist in preparing presentations and executive summaries using validated business data.
  • Ensure content is professional, accurate, and aligned with organisational communication standards.
  • Support the development of presentations for leadership meetings and stakeholder engagements.

Governance & Compliance (coordination)

  • Support the administration of board and committee meeting schedules, timelines, and distribution lists under the guidance of the Company Secretariat.
  • Assist in maintaining governance documentation and records.
  • Ensure confidential information is handled appropriately and in accordance with POPIA requirements.
  • Adhere to established document management, security, and retention procedures.
  • Coordinate with IT, Legal, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance with document handling protocols.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders across Group functions and divisions.
  • Liaise with business leaders to obtain information required for reporting and strategic initiatives.
  • Support communication and collaboration between the CEO Office and key business functions.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and administrative efficiencies.
  • Assist in implementing streamlined processes and best practices within the CEO Office.
  • Support organisational change initiatives and business improvement projects as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Science (Accounting, Finance or Economics), Data Science, Law with a commercial focus, a related field

Experience

  • 0-3 years of work experience
  • Experience within a JSE-listed company or large corporate organisation.
  • Experience coordinating projects and monitoring deliverables.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with digital marketing tools
  • Creative mindset with attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and eagerness to learn
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
