Job summary

Reflex Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer with GPON/FTTH experience to join the Carrier Solutions team in Johannesburg. You will provide technical support, troubleshoot fibre and carrier-grade networks, and ensure high service availability for enterprise and retail clients.

The role requires strong technical skills, customer focus, and the ability to work in a fast-paced network operations environment, including after-hours standby.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in Telecommunications networking, focusing on MPLS/DWDM/GPON networks.
• CCNP/HCIP/JNCIP certifications are required.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or National Diploma.
• ITIL Foundation certification for IT service management.
• Valid EB driver's license with reliable transport; after-hours work required.
• Experience in customer-facing technical support and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely technical support via phone, email, and ticketing systems.
• Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or internal teams.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot MPLS, DWDM, and GPON networks to minimize downtime.
• Monitor network performance and identify potential issues to prevent service degradation.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, issues, and resolutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address customer needs and improve service quality.
• Provide training and guidance to junior staff and customers; pursue vendor certifications as required.
• Stay updated with new technologies and industry trends in telecommunications networking.
