Placements24 is looking for a qualified Governess in Mossel Bay, Western Cape to provide comprehensive care and education for two school-aged children. This live-out, full-time role focuses on structured routines, academic support, and enriching activities in a nurturing home environment.

The ideal candidate has a strong educational background, proactive approach to child development, and exceptional interpersonal skills, with 5+ years of relevant experience and First Aid/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or Child Psychology or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as Governess, Tutor or Nanny with verifiable references.
• Excellent knowledge of primary school curriculum and learning support.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Patience, creativity and genuine love for children.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to adapt to family’s needs and routines.
• First Aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee children's daily routines, including meals, hygiene and bedtime.
• Support children with homework completion and ensure academic tasks are met.
• Develop and implement educational and recreational activities (reading, arts & crafts, outdoor games).
• Plan and coordinate age-appropriate outings and excursions.
• Ensure children's safety, health and emotional well-being at all times.
• Prepare healthy and balanced meals and snacks for the children.
• Communicate regularly with parents about academic performance, behavior and well-being.
• Maintain a tidy and organized environment for the children.
• Instill good manners, discipline and social skills.
