Job summary

A multinational financial services group is seeking a Governance and Legal Support Specialist to join their team in Midrand, Gauteng. The ideal candidate will provide administrative support across governance, finance, and legal functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. They should have a Bcom Law or Bachelors of Law degree, along with 3-5 years of experience in legal and governance settings. Qualifications

  • Knowledge of corporate governance principles and regulatory frameworks such as Companies Act and King V.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational support to Governance, Finance and Legal functions.
  • Prepare, review and coordinate Board and Committee packs.
  • Support implementation of governance frameworks and policies.
  • Draft and review legal documents, contracts and correspondence.
  • Schedule meetings and coordinate logistics for governance activities.

What will you do?

To provide administrative and operational support to the Governance, Finance and Legal function, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, effective governance practices, and legal support.

What will make you successful in this role?
Governance Support
  • Prepare, review and coordinate Board and Committee packs.
  • Maintain statutory registers and company records.
  • Support implementation of governance frameworks, committees, and policies in line with Companies Act and King V principles.
  • Provide governance support to internal departments, exco and manco to ensure compliance and best practices.
Legal Administration
  • Draft and review legal documents, contracts and correspondence.
  • Maintain and manage the legal document repository.
  • Assist with legal matters for external legal counsel and internal stakeholders.
Administrative Duties
  • Schedule meetings, set reminders, and coordinate logistics for governance activities across Miway.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other documentation as required.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Required Bcom Law or Bachelors of Law
  • Admitted Attorney advantageous
  • Qualification in Governance advantageous.
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in legal, governance and company secretary environment.
  • Knowledge of corporate governance principles and regulatory frameworks (e.g., Companies Act, King V).
