The role focuses on menu creation, high-quality dish preparation with local ingredients, and impeccable hygiene. You will manage setup to breakdown, ensure food safety, and provide exceptional guest service in a fast-paced mobile setting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Chef, with a strong emphasis on creative cuisine and menu development.
• Experience working in a mobile kitchen or similar fast-paced catering environment.
• Ability to prepare diverse and high-quality gourmet dishes.
• Strong understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene practices.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Adaptability and resourcefulness in a dynamic mobile setting.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Upington, Northern Cape.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute a creative gourmet menu suitable for mobile kitchen operations.
• Prepare and cook high-quality dishes using fresh, local ingredients whenever possible.
• Manage all aspects of the mobile kitchen, including setup, operation, and breakdown at event locations.
• Ensure impeccable food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
• Manage inventory and supplies for the mobile kitchen, ensuring adequate stock levels.
• Provide excellent customer service during events, interacting positively with clients and guests.
• Maintain the mobile kitchen equipment and ensure it is in optimal working condition.
• Adapt menus and service to suit various event types and locations.
• Collaborate with the broader catering team to align mobile kitchen offerings with overall service goals.
• Stay updated on culinary trends and innovative approaches to mobile food service.
