Placements24 is seeking a highly strategic Communications Director to lead its global communications function. This executive role is based remotely from Vereeniging and focuses on developing a comprehensive strategy to support business goals, enhance brand reputation, and engage stakeholders.

You will oversee internal and external communications, media relations, crisis management, and public affairs while collaborating with a distributed team to drive impact across the organization.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive experience in Communications and Public Relations, with leadership roles.
• Extensive experience in developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies for large organizations.
• Exceptional expertise in media relations, crisis management, and corporate messaging.
• Strong understanding of digital communication channels and evolving media landscapes.
• Outstanding leadership, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an overarching communication strategy aligned with corporate goals and brand values.
• Lead and manage all internal and external communication initiatives, including media relations, PR, social media, and executive communications.
• Oversee crisis communications planning and execution, ensuring timely and effective responses.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, industry influencers, and key stakeholders.
• Manage the communications team (or external agencies) and ensure the highest quality of output.
• Measure and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies, adapting as needed to optimize impact.
