Job summary

Riseup Management in Gauteng seeks an experienced Production Manager to lead glass manufacturing operations. You will plan and control daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules, optimise machinery and labour use, and drive on-time delivery across cutting, edging, tempering, laminating, and IG unit processes.

The role requires strong leadership, 5–8 years in manufacturing, and a track record in safety and quality control. An established manager with Lean/Six Sigma is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in production management, engineering, or related field.
• Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma certifications (advantageous).
• 5-8 years' experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
• Minimum 3 years in a management role.
• Experience in glass processing is highly advantageous.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent planning and organisational ability.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and machinery.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
• Ensure optimal utilisation of machinery, labour, and materials.
• Monitor production output and adjust plans to meet deadlines.
• Oversee all production processes (cutting, edging, tempering, laminating, IG units).
• Ensure smooth workflow between departments.
• Minimise downtime and production delays.
• Ensure all glass products meet required specifications and standards.
• Implement and monitor quality control procedures.
• Reduce defects, rework, and wastage.
• Ensure compliance with the occupational health and safety act (OHS Act).
• Enforce safety procedures in high-risk areas (machinery, glass handling).
• Conduct safety audits and risk assessments.
