Placements24 seeks a Geothermal Energy Technician to join our operations team in Rustenburg, North West. You will install, maintain, and repair geothermal systems, including heat pumps and drilling equipment, while adhering to safety standards.

With at least four years of hands-on experience in mechanical systems, you will read schematics, use diagnostic tools, and support site assessments. Travel to various project sites is expected in this growing green energy sector.

Qualifications

• 4+ years hands-on experience with mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, or energy systems).
• Specific experience with geothermal or heat pump systems is advantageous.
• Ability to read technical drawings and operate diagnostic tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair geothermal heating and cooling systems, including heat pumps and piping.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on geothermal equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics for installation/repair.
• Operate specialized tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Monitor system performance and record data for analysis.

Requirements

• Technical qualification or trade certification in Mechanical Fitting, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

• Specific experience with geothermal or heat pump systems is a significant advantage.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and measurement instruments.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics.
