Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering with a strong geotechnical focus.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration with ECSA.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in geotechnical engineering, with significant exposure to mining-related projects.
• Demonstrated experience in slope stability analysis, foundation design for large structures, and mine waste management.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software packages (PLAXIS, GeoStudio, Slide, FLAC).
• Strong understanding of soil and rock mechanics principles and their practical application.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report writing skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple project responsibilities.
• Experience with site supervision and construction monitoring is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical investigations for mining operations, infrastructure developments, and construction projects.
• Perform advanced geotechnical analyses, including slope stability, seepage, settlement, and bearing capacity calculations.
• Design foundations, retaining structures, earthworks, and mine waste facilities.
• Develop and implement ground support strategies for underground excavations and slopes.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, technical specifications, and design recommendations.
• Provide expert geotechnical advice and risk assessments to clients and project teams.
• Oversee site investigations, including drilling programs and laboratory testing.
• Ensure all designs and recommendations comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Mentor junior geotechnical engineers and contribute to the technical development of the team.
