Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a geotechnical specialization.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Professional registration as Pr.Eng with ECSA or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of geotechnical experience with a strong project portfolio.
• Proficiency in site investigation techniques and laboratory testing procedures.
• Proficiency in geotechnical design software (e.g., Plaxis, GeoStudio suite, FLAC).
• Solid understanding of South African geological conditions and relevant engineering standards.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel within George area.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute geotechnical site investigations including drilling and sampling.
• Interpret borehole logs, lab results, and geophysical data.
• Perform soil and rock mechanics analyses.
• Design foundation systems for various sites.
• Prepare geotechnical investigation reports and design recommendations.
• Collaborate with civil, structural, and architectural teams.
• Provide technical support during construction and address geotechnical issues.
• Ensure compliance with geotechnical standards and environmental regulations.
• Conduct slope stability, settlement, and seismic risk assessments.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
