The successful candidate will be responsible for processing and interpreting seismic data to identify potential hydrocarbon reserves and delineate geological structures. This position requires a rigorous analytical approach and a deep understanding of geophysical principles and technologies. Key Responsibilities

• Process, interpret, and analyze 2D and 3D seismic data to identify geological structures and potential hydrocarbon traps.
• Integrate seismic data with well logs, core data, and other geological information to build comprehensive subsurface models.
• Perform seismic attribute analysis, inversion, and amplitude variation with offset (AVO) studies.
• Identify and delineate potential drilling targets and estimate reservoir properties from seismic data.
• Prepare detailed geophysical reports, maps, and presentations for exploration teams and management.
• Collaborate with geologists, reservoir engineers, and other subsurface professionals to support exploration and development efforts.
• Stay updated on the latest seismic acquisition, processing, and interpretation techniques and software.
• Quality control of seismic data processing and interpretation workflows.
• Contribute to regional exploration strategy and prospect generation.
• Participate in technical reviews and peer assists.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in seismic data interpretation within the Oil & Gas exploration industry.
• Proficiency in industry-standard seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite, OpendTect).
• Strong understanding of seismic acquisition, processing, and migration principles.
• Experience with various seismic data types, including 2D, 3D, and time-lapse (4D) seismic.
• Knowledge of structural geology and sedimentary basin analysis.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex geophysical concepts.
• Experience working in a hybrid environment and collaborating effectively across teams.
• Familiarity with the geological settings relevant to exploration in the vicinity of Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal, ZA is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
