Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Geophysicist to join its exploration and production team based in Centurion. You will interpret seismic, magnetic, and gravity data to build subsurface models and support exploration strategies within the Oil & Gas sector.

The role requires collaboration with geologists and reservoir engineers, strong analytical skills, and experience with seismic processing workflows. A hybrid work model and comprehensive health benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Geophysics, Geology, or a related Earth Science discipline.
• 5-7 years of experience in geophysical interpretation, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proficiency with industry-standard geophysical software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite).
• Strong understanding of seismic processing workflows and data quality assessment.
• Experience with AVO analysis and seismic inversion techniques.

Responsibilities

• Process and interpret 2D and 3D seismic data to identify geological structures and potential hydrocarbon traps.
