Job summary

The Neurodiversity Centre is seeking a Home-School Tutor/Facilitator for a 7-year-old autistic female in Midrand, Johannesburg. The role supports the child’s learning at home using the NeuroMe platform, with a focus on a low-arousal, child-led approach.

Responsibilities include aiding task understanding, regulating sensory needs, and working with a multidisciplinary team. Training via the NDC Facilitation Academy will be provided, with ongoing support afterwards.

Qualifications

• Experience tutoring or teaching children, preferably neurodivergent.
• Knowledge of Pathological Demand Avoidance and autism is advantageous.
• Gentle, supportive, and child-led approach to working with children.
• Ability to maintain boundaries in a calm, kind manner.
• Familiarity with NeuroMe learning platform is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist the child with understanding learning tasks and completing them.
• Support the child's learning, regulation, and sensory needs throughout the school day.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to implement support strategies.
• Integrate tools and strategies advised by therapists into the learning environment.
