The successful candidate will have strong experience inNPO management, programme delivery, fundraising, financial oversight and stakeholder engagement, together with the ability to work effectively with a Board, staff and a large volunteer network.
Provide strategic and operational leadership in line with the organisation’s vision and objectives.
Work closely with the Board on strategy, governance, reporting and organisational development.
Oversee programmes, ensuring effective planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting.
Develop and drive fundraising strategies, donor relationships and funding opportunities.
Manage organisational budgets, financial controls and responsible use of resources.
Lead, support and motivate staff and volunteers to achieve organisational objectives.
Build strong relationships with funders, partners, government, community organisations and other stakeholders.
Represent the organisation at meetings, events and external engagements.
Prepare professional reports, presentations and updates for the Board and stakeholders.
Ensure priorities are delivered efficiently, professionally and within agreed deadlines.
Minimum5 years’ senior leadership experience, preferably within the non-profit sector.
Proven experience inprogramme management, fundraising and financial oversight.
Interest in theSouth African mental health, psychosocial support, gender-based violence and/or community development environment.
Experience working effectively with a Board and managing diverse teams.
Demonstrated ability to motivate and coordinatelarge groups of volunteers.
Excellent networking, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Good understanding of budgets and financial management in an NPO environment.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently.
Excellent working knowledge ofMicrosoft Word, Excel and Outlook, including experience preparing presentations and reports.
High levels ofempathy, emotional intelligence and professionalism.
A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to manage competing priorities.
