Job summary

iDbase Software seeks a General Manager: Data Transformation & Platforms to lead the modernisation and operationalisation of the enterprise data platform. You will drive scalable cloud data architectures and governance, enabling trusted datasets for digital products, analytics, pricing optimisation, and decision-making.

You will work with executives and cross-functional teams, manage delivery partners, and build a high-performing data platform team.

Qualifications

• NQF Level 7 qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 5-7 years' experience in data engineering, data platforms or enterprise architecture.
• Proven experience building or modernising enterprise data platforms.
• Experience with cloud data technologies and platform engineering.
• Experience leading technical delivery teams.
• Valid driver's licence.

We are looking for a General Manager: Data Transformation & Platforms to lead the development, modernisation and operationalisation of the organisation’s enterprise data platform capability.

The role will drive the modernisation of data environments, scalable data integration and platform engineering practices, while ensuring trusted and accessible enterprise data supports digital products, advanced analytics, pricing optimisation, and customer and fleet decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement the enterprise data platform roadmap.

Implement scalable cloud-based data architectures.

Establish data modelling and architectural governance standards.

Modernise legacy data environments towards integrated, API-driven and event-enabled architectures.

Lead data integration and data engineering initiatives.

Cloud Data Engineering certifications.

Architecture certifications such as TOGAF, Azure, AWS or GCP.

Experience in mobility, financial services or asset-intensive industries.

Experience supporting AI or advanced analytics initiatives.
