Job summary

iDbase Software is seeking a General Manager: Data Transformation & Platforms to lead the development, modernisation and operationalisation of the organisation’s enterprise data platform capability. You will drive scalable cloud-based architectures and governance frameworks to deliver trusted datasets for analytics and AI.

Role requires 5–7 years in data engineering or enterprise architecture, with leadership experience and a valid driver’s licence.

Qualifications

• NQF Level 7 qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 5–7 years' experience in data engineering, data platforms or enterprise architecture.
• Proven experience building or modernising enterprise data platforms.
• Experience integrating legacy systems into modern data environments.
• Experience with cloud data technologies and platform engineering.
• Experience leading technical delivery teams.
• Valid driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the enterprise data platform roadmap.
• Implement scalable cloud-based data architectures.
• Establish data modelling and architectural governance standards.
• Modernise legacy data environments towards integrated, API-driven and event-enabled architectures.
• Lead data integration and data engineering initiatives.
• Establish data reliability, observability and monitoring practices.
• Implement data governance, quality, metadata, cataloguing and lineage frameworks.
• Enable trusted enterprise datasets and a single source of truth.
• Support AI, advanced analytics and self-service analytics capabilities.
• Work with executives, Product, IT, Finance, Commercial and other stakeholders.
• Manage delivery partners, vendors and cross-functional teams.
• Build and lead a high-performing enterprise data platform team.
• Manage delivery governance, resourcing and budget inputs.
