Job summary

cquail in Johannesburg is seeking a site-based Foreman / Supervisor to oversee specialist underground drilling and lead operational crews. You will ensure safe production, equipment and workforce coordination, quality execution and reporting within schedule and budget.

The role requires supervising raise-bore activities, allocating work, monitoring performance, maintaining regulatory compliance and clear reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of operational mining/industrial/construction experience with supervisory exposure.
• Qualification in Engineering, Mining, Mechanical or related discipline, or strong demonstrable practical experience.
• Knowledge of mining operations, safety regulations and quality-management systems.
• Medically fit for underground work and able to work shifts, overtime and extended site deployments.
• Valid driver’s licence and clear criminal record.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day raise-bore / specialist drilling activities on site.
• Allocate work, monitor crew performance and ensure safe execution of planned activities.
• Coordinate equipment, tools, materials and site resources to support operational continuity.
• Ensure compliance with mine regulations, project procedures, quality standards and client requirements.
• Monitor progress against production schedules and escal operational risks or delays early.
• Maintain accurate shift, production, safety and operational reporting.
• Coach and guide operational personnel while promoting accountability and safe work practices.
• Support communication between site teams, management and client stakeholders.

Experience & Requirements

• Relevant technical qualification in Engineering, Mining, Mechanical or related discipline, or strong demonstrable practical experience.
• Minimum 5 years of operational experience in mining, industrial or construction environments, including supervisory exposure.
• Sound knowledge of mining operations, safety regulations and quality-management systems.
• Demonstrated team leadership and operational coordination capability.
• Medically fit for underground work and willing to work shifts, rotations, overtime and extended site deployments.
• Valid driver's licence; clear criminal record.
