Job summary

JV Human Capital is supporting a well-known company in the Western Cape to hire a skilled General Foreman with a track record in commercial and industrial projects. The role requires strong leadership on site, budget management, and ensuring safety, quality and timely delivery of works.

The successful candidate will oversee site setup, coordinate staff and sub-contractors, and drive adherence to HSE requirements while maintaining stock control and meeting project milestones.

Qualifications

• NQF Trade Certificate/Diploma in construction disciplines.
• National Technical Certificate/Diploma in Construction.
• Proven experience as a General Foreman of 2–5 years.
• In-depth knowledge of HSE requirements on construction sites.
• Proven track record of managing site staff and sub-contractors.
• Understanding of project site dynamics, priorities and key focus areas.

Responsibilities

• Site set-up and layout.
• Manage budgets and track billable hours.
• Define project tasks and resource needs.
• Manage on-site staff and subcontractors.
• Ensure site safety and OSHA compliance.
• Procure materials/equipment on time within limits.
• Maintain stock records of on-site materials.
• Maintain/replace site machinery as needed.
• Meet project timelines and milestones.
• Attend site meetings.
• Manage quality and ensure standards.
• Provide toolbox talks to staff.

A well know company in the Western Cape is urgently looking to hire a well experienced GF, that has experience with commercial and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Site set-up and layout.
• Managing and meeting project budgets and correctly account for billable hour.
• Defining project tasks and resource requirements.
• Management of on-site Staff and Sub-Contractors.
• Ensuring site safety and OSHA requirements are fully met.
• On-time procurement of materials and equipment within approved limits.
• Maintain proper stock records of on-site materials.
• Maintain/replace site machinery as required.
• Meeting project timelines and milestones.
• Attending Site Meetings.
• Managing of quality and ensuring that quality standards are met.
• Provide on-the-job Toolbox Talks to Staff.
• NQF Trade Certificate/Diploma (Bricklaying, Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, etc.)
• National Technical Certificate/Diploma in Construction.
• Proven experience as a General Foreman of at least 2 to 5 years.
• In depth knowledge of construction site Health, Safety & Environment requirements.
• Proven track record of having managed construction site Staff and Sub-Contractors.
• In-depth knowledge of project site dynamics, priorities and key focus areas.
• Valid Drivers License and own transport.
