Job summary

Cashbuild seeks a Store Associate to deliver friendly customer service, assist shoppers with product queries, and maintain store standards.

You will handle merchandising, price labelling, housekeeping, safety, and stock control, ensuring planograms are followed and shelves are tidy. The role requires Grade 10/12, basic numeracy, good English, and willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 10 or NQF 3 with 1 year related experience, or Grade 12 with no related experience.
• Must be able to communicate in English and the dominant language of the area.
• South African ID or valid work permit.
• Ability to perform basic calculations.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Advise and assist Customers on correct products and queries.
• Assist with and resolve Customer complaints.
• Merchandising Standards: bulk stock area merchandised safely and according to Store layout plan.
• Ensure area fully merchandised according to Store layout and planograms.
• Housekeeping: area free of obstacles, stock merchandised promptly after receipt, safe aisle access for customers.
• Correct shelf price labelling within area of responsibility.
• Complete safety checklists including canteen and toilet/showers schedule.
• OHSA safety compliance and use of safety gear; report discrepancies to Store Manager.
• Report damaged stock and stock discrepancies to Store Manager.
