Job summary

Sulzer is seeking an experienced EMS Supervisor to lead the workshop in Elandsfontein. You will supervise a team of employees and contractors, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality repair, refurbishment, assembly and testing of gearboxes in a busy engineering environment.

The role requires a hands‑on leader with strong technical expertise, safety focus and a commitment to continuous improvement. You will work with customers and internal teams to deliver reliable solutions.

Qualifications

• Qualified Millwright or Fitter & Turner.
• National Diploma or equivalent technical qualification.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Experience: 5–10 years progressive supervisory experience in a mechanical workshop/engineering environment.
• Sound knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage workshop activities to meet deadlines and OEM standards.
• Supervise gearbox overhaul, refurbishment, repair, assembly, and testing.
• Attend to breakdowns and repair requests.
• Promote a strong safety culture via toolbox talks and behavioural safety.
• Conduct root-cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, procedures, quality standards, and customer requirements.
• Manage inventory of critical components and workshop supplies.
• Oversee calibration and certification of workshop equipment and instruments.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders on technical matters.
