Job summary

Afrimat Nkomati Anthracite is seeking a GCC Engineer to lead engineering maintenance and reliability initiatives at the Nkomati site in Mpumalanga. You will ensure MHSA compliance, drive maintenance strategies for mobile mining equipment and fixed plant assets, and mentor the engineering and maintenance teams.

The role requires a GCC Mines & Works certificate, a Bachelor's or national diploma in Mechanical Engineering, and 8+ years of mining engineering experience, including leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or National Diploma in Mechanical/related field.
• GCC Mines & Works certification – essential.
• Minimum 8 years' engineering experience in mining/mineral processing.
• At least 3 years in a senior engineering leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Act as the appointed GCC Engineer in accordance with the MHSA.
• Lead maintenance and reliability initiatives for mobile mining equipment and fixed plant assets.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to improve equipment availability.
• Monitor budgets, capital projects and operating expenditure.
• Lead investigations into engineering incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering and maintenance teams.
