Placements24 is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead a critical gas processing plant in Upington. You will ensure safe, efficient, and profitable operations, manage production, maintenance, and personnel, and drive performance in a demanding oil and gas environment.

The role requires a chemical or mechanical engineering background, 10+ years in operations with 5+ in management, and a proven track record in safety, maintenance, and budget control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years in plant operations, with 5+ years in management within Oil & Gas.
• Proven gas processing or petrochemical operations experience.
• Strong understanding of operations, maintenance, and safety management systems.
• Excellent leadership and financial management skills.
• Ability to manage complex operations and diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day gas processing plant operations.
• Develop and implement strategies to meet production, quality, and cost objectives.
• Oversee maintenance to ensure asset integrity and minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead plant personnel and foster a high-performance culture.
• Develop and manage operational budgets to maximize profitability.
