Job summary

DMA Group is seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to join a collaborative technology team responsible for a business-critical workflow platform. You will work across the full stack, from design to deployment, solving complex technical challenges and taking ownership of solutions.

The role requires strong Java/Spring Boot experience, solid Angular/TypeScript skills, and MySQL design expertise, with CI/CD via GitLab and a focus on secure coding practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' professional software development experience.
• Strong Java and Spring ecosystem experience (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security).
• Solid Angular, TypeScript and RxJS experience.
• Strong MySQL database design and optimisation skills.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Experience with GitLab or similar version control and CI/CD tools.
• Proven experience supporting production-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop modern, responsive front-end applications using Angular.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
• Design and optimise MySQL databases, queries and indexing.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs with internal and third-party systems.
• Manage source control, code reviews and CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
• Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis and implement preventative solutions.
• Improve application performance, stability and scalability.
• Apply secure coding principles and data protection best practices.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning and release management.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and automated test coverage.

• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.

• Proven experience supporting production-critical systems.
• Strong understanding of secure coding and data protection principles.
  

Advantageous:

• JPA/Hibernate, Spring Data, Spring Batch or Spring Cloud.
• Docker and containerised deployments.
• Linux administration and shell scripting.
• Cloud platform exposure (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Microservices and messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Automated testing experience with JUnit, Mockito, Cypress or Karma.
