Job summary

Dis-Chem Makhado Crossing is seeking a Frontshop Assistant to uphold merchandising standards and support customer service at the point of sale.

You will ensure shelves are stocked, prices are correct and stock is managed to prevent expiry, while assisting customers with inquiries and processing payments.

Essential: Grade 12 and 0–6 months retail experience; advantageous: 1 year retail experience or Retail Business Management certification.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent required.
• 0–6 months retail experience preferred.
• Knowledge of retail operations and administration is essential.
• Ability to process payments and handle POS transactions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure full ranges of products are on shelves and neatly presented.
• Maintain stock and prevent expiry.
• Restock merchandise to maximise sales.
• Process purchases and handle payments (cash, cards, vouchers).
• Ensure pricing and labels are accurate; report discrepancies.
• Keep storeroom organised and tidy.
• Provide friendly, informative customer service.
• Adhere to health and safety rules and Dis-Chem policies.
