Job summary

HyperDev AI is seeking a Founding Product Lead to shape the company’s product strategy, roadmap, and developer experience in Cape Town. You will work directly with the founder to align AI capabilities with user needs, while guiding the team through discovery, design, and delivery.

You’ll own the product journey end-to-end—defining briefs, user journeys, and acceptance criteria, and collaborating with engineering and design to ship impactful features.

Qualifications

• Experience taking a software product from idea through launch and iteration.
• Ownership of product decisions with measurable outcomes.
• Hands-on customer discovery, prioritisation, and close collaboration with engineering and design.
• Strong technical fluency: APIs, integrations, architecture, and engineering trade-offs.
• Practical experience building AI-powered products and understanding LLM capabilities and limits.
• Ability to move work forward independently in a fast-moving, early-stage environment.

Responsibilities

• Define the product direction with co-founders: vision, target users, and problems to solve.
• Turn direction into a focused roadmap balancing customer needs, business opportunities, and tech constraints.
• Prioritise clearly and explain what to build and defer.
• Stay close to AI and developer tooling developments to sharpen product choices.
• Build direct relationships with developers and early customers through interviews and feedback.
• Own the product journey from discovery to delivery, defining briefs and acceptance criteria.
