Job summary

TWK Agri is seeking a Spatial Intelligence & Resource Planner for the Timber division in Piet Retief / Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. The role focuses on managing and interpreting spatial data to support forestry operations, resource planning, timber traceability, and compliance.

You will transform spatial and field data into maps, reports and insights, while providing GIS support to stakeholders and contributing to forecasting and operational planning. Travel and field data collection are involved.

Qualifications

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Tertiary qualification in GIS, Geography, Forestry, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in spatial data sourcing, processing and management
  • Experience in forestry, agriculture, or environmental sectors is advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Process, analyse, and model GIS data to support forestry operations and planning
  • Compile, organise, integrate, and maintain spatial data from various sources
  • Convert mapping resources into standardised digital formats
  • Digitise and validate spatial data from aerial photography and satellite imagery
  • Perform spatial analysis and modelling to support decision-making
  • Produce high-quality maps and spatial products for operational, management, and client use
  • Generate GIS reports, dashboards, and customised spatial information products
  • Promote GIS capabilities and provide guidance and training on GIS outputs
