Job summary

Boland TVET College in Worcester is seeking a dedicated supervisor to manage cleaning services and campus maintenance, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety across facilities.

You will supervise a team of general workers, coordinate maintenance including gardens and equipment, and liaise with contractors. The role operates 40 hours per week in a permanent capacity with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role in cleaning services and maintenance environments.
• Supervisory experience leading a team of workers.
• Knowledge of general cleaning techniques and procedures.
• Knowledge of general building maintenance techniques (wet trades, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc).
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Computer literacy with MS Office.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Good organizational and administrative skills.
• Prepared to work after hours upon request.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee cleaning services and maintenance on campus.
• Supervision and assistance with cleaning of facilities.
• Supervision and assistance with general building maintenance including gardens, grounds, buildings, furniture, machinery and equipment.
• Manage and ensure the maintenance of cleaning materials and equipment.
• Supervision of a team of general workers/cleaners and applicable training.
• Daily use of Facility Maintenance Software.
• Administration and stock control of cleaning and maintenance materials.
• Interaction with external contractors and service providers.
• Provision of a support service and ad hoc duties to campus administration and other campuses.

R 201 093 per annum plus benefits. Benefits include an annual service bonus. Membership of the Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF) is compulsory.
