ABET level 2 or equivalent; basic food preparation knowledge; good communication and teamwork; and the ability to work shifts, weekends and holidays.

Responsabilités

• Assist with preparation and serving of food and drinks
• Maintain hygiene in preparation and serving areas
• Prepare and serve tea, coffee and drinks
• Supply water and keep dining hall areas clean and tidy
• Remove kitchen waste and set tables
• Wait on tables and assist with refreshments for meetings
• Ensure only authorized personnel access kitchen and meals
• Report defects or shortages of equipment
• Uphold high hygiene and safety standards

JOB DESCRIPTION

Rendering assistance with the preparation and serving of food/drinks in all its forms by: Hygiene preparation (i.e. wash, cut and cook) and serving of food Preparing and serving tea, coffee and drinks Supplying water on dining hall and food storage areas clean and tidy Removing all kitchen waste Arranging refreshments for the meetings Washing and cleaning up after meals Setting tables (including decoration thereof) Waiting on tables Ensure only authorized personnel have access to the kitchen and/or consume meals Ensure serviceability of equipment and report any defects or shortages Apply a high standard of hygiene as well as safety measures in work environment

JOB REQUIREMENTS

NQF level 1 or 2 (ABET level 2 certificate or equivalent) Ability to read and write. Basic food preparation knowledge and skills. Basic Hygiene and principles. Good communication skills. Effective team working skills. Problem identification skills. Ability to perform routine / structural tasks. Ability to operate food service equipment. Able to work shifts as well as over weekends and holidays.
