Job summary

Elchemie in Gauteng seeks a Training Delivery & Development Specialist to plan, coordinate, and deliver theory and practical F&B training for staff across sites.

You will assess learning needs, develop materials, conduct assessments, and coach teams to uphold service standards while travelling to client sites with your own vehicle.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric, hospitality preferred
• 2–3 years in F&B/hospitality with training experience
• Knowledge of F&B ops, food safety, hygiene and service standards
• Strong communication, presentation, coaching and reporting skills

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deliver theoretical and practical F&B training for staff in classroom and operational settings
• Train staff on food preparation, beverage service, hygiene and portion control

Job description

What you’ll be doing

• Training Delivery & Facilitation: Plan, coordinate, and deliver theoretical and practical Food & Beverage training for new and existing employees in classroom and operational environments.
• Skills Development: Train staff on food preparation/presentation, beverage service, hygiene, food safety, table setting, buffet/banqueting service, guest interaction, POS usage, and portion control.
• Induction & Onboarding: Facilitate onboarding for new hires and deliver refresher training when operational gaps or performance trends are identified.
• Training Needs Analysis: Conduct operational observations, analyze performance trends, consult with site management, and assist in maintaining training matrices.
• Assessments & Competency: Conduct theoretical and practical assessments, evaluate staff against competency standards, record results, and provide feedback to management.
• Material Development: Develop and update relevant learner guides, practical checklists, assessment tools, and standardized training modules.
• Operational Support & Coaching: Perform site visits to observe working practices, support implementations, and partner with Operations, Supervisors, and Site Managers.
• Reporting & Administration: Maintain accurate attendance registers, training documentation, and competency trackers, submitting reports on time.
• People Development: Foster an engaging learning environment, coach staff requiring extra support, and promote a culture of service excellence.

What you’ll need

• Education: Grade 12 / Matric. A relevant Food & Beverage, Hospitality, or Culinary qualification is preferred. An ETDP SETA-aligned training/facilitation qualification is advantageous.
• Experience: Minimum 2–3 years’ practical experience in F&B and hospitality (restaurants, hotels, catering, or banqueting). Prior training, coaching, or practical skills assessment experience required.
• Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of F&B operations, hospitality service standards, food safety, hygiene, health and safety, and training/assessment principles.
• Skills: Strong communication, presentation, coaching, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
• Attributes: Professional, highly structured, approachable, self-motivated, and comfortable presenting and demonstrating techniques to groups.
• Vehicle & Travel: Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle (mandatory for site travel).
