Job summary

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced FOH Manager for a private game lodge in Northern KwaZulu-Natal. This live-in role requires overseeing front-of-house operations and stepping in as lodge manager during GM leave cycles.

The position offers a monthly salary of R15,000 with accommodation and a food allowance; accommodation is provided on-site. The role suits professionals with luxury lodge background and comfort working in a remote bush environment with staff leadership

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a FOH Manager or Duty Manager within a 4- or 5-star lodge.
• Proven experience in luxury lodge hosting and guest relations.
• Strong operational knowledge across front of house, food and beverage, housekeeping and guest services.
• Experience in stock control, ordering and general administration.
• Computer literacy and strong organisational skills.
• A valid driver's licence.
• Excellent leadership and staff management abilities.
• A trustworthy, responsible individual capable of relieving the General Manager and taking full operational responsibility during leave cycles.
• A warm, professional and guest-focused approach.
• The ability to work comfortably in a remote, live-in bush environment.
• A stable employment history with contactable references.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily lodge operations and ensure smooth running of all departments during shifts.
• Manage guest arrivals, departures, hosting, reservations and billing.
• Supervise staff across front of house, food and beverage, housekeeping and other operational departments.
• Maintain high standards of guest service and overall lodge presentation.
• Manage stock control, ordering and general administrative duties.
• Support effective communication and coordination between departments.
• Assume full operational responsibility when relieving the General Manager during leave cycles.
• Candidates do not need to own a vehicle, provided they can arrange reliable transport to and from the reserve.
