Job summary

tashas Fourways is seeking an experienced Front of House Manager to join our opening leadership team and help shape a culture of excellence from day one.

You will lead the FOH staff on the floor, coach and develop the team, uphold brand standards, collaborate with kitchen and bar, and ensure every guest enjoys a memorable dining experience.

About the Role

As we prepare to open the doors to our newest tashas cafe in Fourways, we are looking for an experienced and passionate Front of House (FOH) Manager to join our opening leadership team.

At tashas, exceptional hospitality is created through people. Our Front of House Managers lead from the floor, inspiring their teams to deliver warm, engaging service while ensuring every guest enjoys a memorable experience. Your Mission

You will lead the Front of House team in delivering exceptional hospitality while ensuring smooth daily operations and consistently high standards.

By coaching your team, maintaining operational excellence and creating memorable guest experiences, you will help build a café where people love to work and guests love to return.

What You\'ll Be Doing
Front of House Leadership & Operations
  • Lead the daily Front of House operation, ensuring every service is delivered with consistency, professionalism and care.

  • Support the smooth running of opening and closing procedures, operational readiness and daily service.

  • Coordinate closely with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure seamless communication and service flow.

  • Conduct engaging daily briefings that prepare, motivate and inspire the team for successful service.

  • Monitor service standards throughout the day, providing coaching and support where needed.

  • Ensure tables, service stations and guest areas are beautifully presented, clean and fully prepared.

  • Maintain accurate daily reporting and support operational administration.

  • Uphold all brand standards, policies and operational procedures.

People & Team Development
  • Lead, coach and inspire the Front of House team through visible, hands-on leadership.

  • Support the General Manager with team scheduling and operational planning.

  • Oversee the onboarding and training of new team members, ensuring they feel welcomed, supported and set up for success.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and mutual respect.

  • Provide regular feedback, encouragement and development opportunities.

  • Champion the values and culture that define tashas.

Guest Experience
  • Lead by example in delivering genuine, engaging hospitality.

  • Build meaningful relationships with guests and create memorable dining experiences.

  • Support the team in anticipating guest needs and exceeding expectations.

  • Handle guest feedback and concerns with professionalism, empathy and efficiency.

  • Work closely with the General Manager to continuously enhance the guest experience.

  • Champion our three pillars: beautiful food, stunning environments and engaging service.

Commercial & Operational Performance
  • Support the achievement of sales, guest satisfaction and operational performance goals.

  • Assist with cash management, daily reconciliations and operational reporting.

  • Monitor labour efficiency and operational performance throughout service.

  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, service standards and overall café performance.

Systems & Administration
  • Ensure the effective use of POS systems and operational technology.

  • Maintain accurate operational records and reporting.

  • Support compliance with company systems and operational procedures.

Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Uphold the highest standards of health, safety and food hygiene.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies.

  • Monitor HACCP procedures, venue cleanliness and operational safety standards.

  • Promote a safe, organised and welcoming environment for both guests and team members.

What We\'re Looking For
  • Previous experience as a Front of House Manager, Restaurant Manager, Assistant Manager or Supervisor within a quality hospitality environment.

  • A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.

  • Proven ability to lead, coach and develop high-performing teams.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.

  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of restaurant operations.

  • A calm, hands-on leadership style with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • A commitment to excellence, teamwork and continuous improvement.
