Job summary

Placements24, on behalf of a major FMCG client, seeks an Operations Manager to oversee warehouse and distribution in Mahikeng, North West. The role focuses on efficient, safe, and cost-effective goods flow from facilities to customers.

You will lead a team, optimize processes, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced FMCG environment, ensuring high standards of safety and service levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of progressive experience in warehouse/operations management, preferably in FMCG.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Knowledge of the North West region's logistics infrastructure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day warehouse operations including receiving, warehousing, inventory control, and dispatch.
• Develop and implement efficient warehouse strategies and workflows to maximize productivity and minimize costs.
• Oversee inventory management; ensure accuracy, minimize stockouts, and reduce obsolescence.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the warehouse.
• Lead, train, and motivate a team of warehouse staff to achieve high performance standards.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and suppliers.
• Implement and maintain robust quality control measures throughout warehouse operations.
• Utilize WMS and other technologies to optimize operations and enhance visibility.
• Develop and manage the warehouse operational budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and service levels.
