Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Warehouse & Distribution Manager to oversee all warehouse operations in Soweto, Gauteng. You will manage receiving, storing, picking, packing and shipping, while ensuring inventory accuracy and safety compliance.

You will lead a diverse team, optimize layouts, and collaborate with 3PLs to ensure timely delivery. A strong background in FMCG logistics and proven process improvements are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in warehouse and distribution management, preferably FMCG.
• Proven track record of improving warehouse efficiency, accuracy, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily warehouse operations including receiving, storing, picking, packing and shipping.
• Manage inventory levels with regular stocktakes and controls.
• Ensure efficient order fulfillment and timely dispatch to meet demand.
• Maintain strict health, safety, and security procedures in the warehouse.
• Lead, train, and motivate warehouse staff to reach targets.
• Optimize layout and workflows for efficiency and space usage.
• Coordinate with third-party logistics providers where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Utilize WMS for inventory tracking and control.
• Analyze data to identify improvements and implement actions.
• Maintain a clean, safe Soweto facility.
