Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Financial Analyst to join our FMCG client in Bloemfontein. The role centers on supporting financial planning, analysis, and reporting for operational activities, with a focus on budget management, cost control, and performance optimization.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Finance/Accounting/Economics, 3–5 years of experience, strong Excel and ERP/BI skills, and professional qualifications (CIMA/ACCA/CA(SA) are advantageous).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• Professional qualifications like CIMA, ACCA, or CA(SA) are advantageous.
• 3–5 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably FMCG/operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting, management accounting, and financial modeling.
• Proficiency in Excel (advanced) and financial software/ERP/BI tools.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with Bloemfontein operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in drafting annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans for operational departments.
• Perform variance analysis and explain discrepancies.
• Develop financial models for business cases and investment appraisals.
• Analyze operational costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and management presentations.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Collaborate with operational managers to provide financial guidance.
• Monitor KPIs related to operations and supply chain.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Contribute to ad-hoc financial analysis and projects.
