The ideal candidate is a qualified diesel mechanic with strong supervisory experience and the ability to manage a busy workshop efficiently.

Qualifications

• Qualified diesel mechanic with a completed trade test.
• Minimum 5 years post-trade-test experience.
• 3–5 years workshop management or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of diesel vehicles, trucks and forklifts.
• Valid driver’s licence; EC licence with PDP or forklift licence is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Develop and manage planned maintenance schedules to minimise breakdowns and downtime.
• Ensure that vehicle breakdowns are attended to promptly.
• Oversee repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance on trucks, forklifts and other diesel-powered vehicles.
• Conduct quality checks on repaired vehicles.
• Manage workshop staff and monitor performance.
• Coordinate transport-related activities and ensure smooth daily operations.
• Monitor spare-parts availability and assist with procurement.
• Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised workshop.
• Assist with budgeting, monitor costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Safeguard company vehicles, tools, equipment and workshop assets.
